I have been working on the front garden bed, trying to apprehend the hasty grownth of grass and weeds. Over several days time I've gotten a lot of it weeded, but not all. I have laid down barrier cloth over most of it, and spread out 7 bags of mulch. There are mounds with dahlia bulbs, pumpkin seeds, and Zinnias. We need a lot more mulch to really cover the garden. The cheapest kind at Kane's is Pine mulch for 4.99 a bag, which is 3 cubic feet in volume.
Andrew helped with the planting, but there is room for more- gardeners and seeds.
I hope this year we can provide a lot of pretty flowers for cutting and selling.
Nice jump on the front yard so far. It looks good. We now have our two resident employees, Matt and Justin. They start today. Whatever veggie seeds you have please bring, especially pumpkin. Whatever we dont get we will go and pick-up Wednesday. If you cant drop them off in the next few days, then at least respond to this and let me know what you are bringing. I look forward to working with you all
ReplyDeleteso you know i am not a complete moron. :) jump = job. not sure how that happened
ReplyDeleteStatia has a lot of wonderful pumpkin seeds to plant, and sunflowers too. It would be good if the boys could go around to each plant in the circle garden, where there is a stick, and pour some water- from a bucket or pitcher, so the new plants will thrive. We will be getting more mulch to cover all the barrier cloth.
